Arrrg, just had a vision that the 'red stapler' could be one of those cheap pocket staplers that were red and fit in a little pouch that and was buried in the back of a desk drawer and you ignored it because it couldn't even staple two sheets back in the 60s or 70s. But I digress.

This sounds like a cool deal but I'd have to know about the stapler at this point 😉
 
It appears there is intense confusion as to what exactly this set will contain. See this much longer thread on a different forum that still has no answer (although I'd keep checking it as someone emailed bestbuy). The term "visual downloads" is generating the confusion. . . .

i seriously doubt it'll be a swingline.

it is funny too, i watched this movie when it came out and i was a senior in high school and loved it.

guess what i do now.
i am a software engineer , at a huge software company, i look at code all day. or at least look like i am. hell the company i work for has 3 sylabbles and ends in "tec" just like initech (you can probably figure out which one this is). my cubicle is great, my boss has actually come to my office at 730pm on a friday to ask me to work on the weekend, etc etc. i havent tried to rip them off yet , and i still have hopes for meeting a jennifer aniston wanna be at lunch. someone even made fake TPS reports and put them near our copier.

the friend of mine who saw it with me in high school actually said "if this computer thing doesnt work out for me i'm going to do construction with my other friend in 2 years" and he's the lead of IT at the small company he works for.


office space isnt a movie. its a documentary. sigh my stapler is a generic office depot one 🙁
 
Just bought the Swingline red stapler at Fry's the other weekend... this one better not be the same for only $5 more for the set!
 
too bad that red stapler isn't the one in the movie. The one in the movie has Swingline in white paint on the side if i am not mistaken.

Correct. I believe THIS is the stapler used in the movie. The movie people custom painted it red, and I assume added the "Swingline" script to the side over top of the paint. I don't think the stapler comes with that script on the side.

In any event, I bought a gray version of the model 747 stapler two years ago and painted it red myself, to match the red stapler that Swingline sells. I use it at work. It has been my intent to also purchase the stapler I linked to and paint it red as well, to match what was used in the movie, but I haven't done it yet.
