I just quit OM a couple of weeks ago to avoid black Friday. OM has a no questions asked 14 day return policy on just about everything except software and they also guarantee their prices for 14 days.

Ouch. Is working on Black Friday really that bad?

hey OM guys, if i went and bought the HD this week and tried to return it on friday for the rebate... think that would work?
They will. I've done this for three years now and OM has always let me return and rebuy the merchandise. Be sure to return and repurchase (not price adjust or price match), so you qualify for the rebates. A simple price adjustment won't make you eligible for the rebates because you need the sale dates on the sales receipt. So do you think office max will honor the 14 day price guarantee if they lower the price? If so I might just pick up a wireless g router & a pack of dvd'rs.
I used to work for a reseller that did "computer shows" on the weekends. Trust me, every weekend was like that, if it was a busy show. It was a kind of fun job for a hardware tech geek, and I got to know the other dealers and could get stuff for cheap, but setting up and breaking down, especially in the cold months, was rather back-breaking. I stopped doing that after a few years. But yeah, I basically know what you're talking about. You barely have time to eat lunch, and you spend basically all day on your feet, with no real breaks.Originally posted by: Salvador
I worked a few in my life. I worked for American Eagle Outfitters back in the 80's and I can remember working the register and not looking up from the register for just about the entire 8 hour shift. It was back in the days when we didn't have computers and scanners. We had to type everything in manually and there was a separate credit card machine (telzon). It was a major PITA compared to the checkout systems that they have today.

don't see this product on line nor in the local store. Too bad, looked to be a good deal
I was out tonight and found the Iomega 160 gb external hdd. It was sitting near the 200 gb WD SE drive on sale. I went ahead and purchased it.BUT IT IS IN THE SCAN OF sheet 3!
Well, ok, that makes sense. It's pretty well-known that CMC media may have dye-spread problems, and that you don't want to burn much more than 4GB to a cheapo disc.Originally posted by: Luthien
Edit: I think I have to explain better exactly what the problem is. You can successfully burn the image with the krapermedia most of the time, but what happens is when you view it the last bit is messed up. The last 10 minutes or have massive tearing that gets worse till the player's (Yes, used several different DVD players) fails to read it.
I hope this clarify's the problem and people believe what I am saying. It is not a hardware or software issue it is the MEDIA.

Well, I have personally burned over four hundred TDK DVD+R disc and would say that I have a 99% success rate. My brother has burned at least 300 or more Memorex and he swears by those. Probaby burned about 100 Sony and 50 teons.
