Office Depot RTCW $39.99

folks it's usually $54.99 or $49.99. I got two at CC for $34.99 before x-mas. It's worth it. It'll change your life for the better.

<< It'll change your life for the better. >>

Changing my life for the better would involve winning 100 million dollars in my state lottery, having a three way with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jessica Alba, and seeing Bin Laden's head on a stick on the White House Lawn.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a nice diversion from life, but nothing more.

heh.... you will get substatially less sleep, forget about things you were suppose to do, and royaly tick off your wife (or husband) with how much time you are playing. I would say that has the potential of being life changing although not in the same context mrbass was saying. lol

Its like the mod DOD for Half-life, with "less" little cheating %@$@'s running around. Axis v Allies, fast pace, nice looking, bla bla bla.

Bump for a decent price to a great game. I got in on the Circuit City deal as well which ran me $29.99..couldn't pass that up. The game has taken over my life, just a warning. 😎

If someone can find the SKUs, you could order it online, add some free after rebate software, use a $20 off $75 coupon (which will require more software than the link I have provided), and get it delivered to your door for $20 plus tax (after rebates). There would be some work involved in finding the SKUs, finding another free-after-rebate product, and for some finding the coupon may involve work as well (no coupon links allowed on AT). $20 would be a great price for this product, though.

<< best buy has'em for same price

how is the game compare to CS?
>>

It has a multiplayer mode that is pretty cool...like different rankings meaning different skills and weapon options. Like a Lieutanant I think?...can call in an air strike etc.. its more on the lines of team fortress I think. Well...the graphics are pretty kick a$$...but the single player game is a bit short and trite.

This is going to sound like jiberish, but it is kinda close to CS in ways and in other ways it is way off. In CS the rounds last a max of like ??? 5 min or so (been a while since I played). I think it is a lot closer to the DOD mod for Half-Life then it is the CS mod.

In RTCW on certian maps and game types you get deadlocked against the other team and it can go on for 45 min or so. That sounds like a lot of time but it goes quick cause the game is very fast paced. You get a real feeling that a "frontline" has been created.

In RTCW you can deploy (respawn) every 30 seconds whereas in CS, your dead untill the next round. Unless you are on a server that has max lives that is. lol

In RTCW you choose a class, Medic, Soldier, Luitenent, or Engineer. Each has a job to do and can carry dif weapons. Whereas in CS you have to buy your weapons.

and and..... geezzz go buy it already. lol

I picked it up yesterday at BB for the same price. I had played the Test version that was released a couple months ago. It's a bit like CS, but like Hunter says it's more like Day of Defeat or if you haven't played that, Team Fortress in a way. Less realistic and a good game if you need a break from CS.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my wife has threatened to but ta brick through my monitor since I found RTCW!!!😱

thanks for the info guys.....i'm gonna get one tomorrow...i got kinda bored with CS now(too many cheaters) and games like "starcraft", "diablo" are not my type of games

I have this game and when I play online, I have sometimes get pings in the 200s. This seems awfully high since I'm on DSL and occording to cnet, my bandwith is about 465kbs. Are there some console commands I can use to make a smoother connection, or is it the server I'm logged onto. thanks.

AMEN!!!😉

One other question. How can you tell if someone is cheating in CS? I just got a new computer that can finally run CS (yeah, I know, my old guy was a 166mz dinosaur) but I don't want to try to learn how to play if its turned into Diablo 1 with all the cheaters. thanks

well if they hit us with a sniper rifle in the head everytime, chances are an aim bot is playing for them.

aim bots always show up for q2/q3 engine games cuz its all open source, but server side cheat detection usually ousts and ip bans cheaters
