Office Depot FREAKING SUCKS

I have 3 pages to scan. Normally, I would just have my secretary scan it at work, but it relates to my new company and all that so it is hush-hush.

So, I stop by an Office Depot near my house on way to work. There are like 4 people in line for the services table (where the do the scanning and other stuff). One person behind the counter. Several Office Depot employees elsewhere throughout the store, and apparently no customer in the store other than the ones in line at the services table.

I had no time to wait 45 minutes for them to get to me, so I said screw it and left.

Over lunch I go to an Office Depot near my work. Same thing - several people in line for the services desk, almost no one else in the store other than employees not helping the one person behind the services desk. So I wait. And wait. Then when I finally get up there, I tell her I just want these 3 pieces of paper scanned and emailed to me. She immediately says they need a flash drive to put the scanned file on, and that there are some flash drives down below I can buy if I want to get the job done.

WHAT?! Are you going to tell me your scanner doesn't have enough memory to hold 3 pieces of paper worth of info? Of course it does. That is a disgusting ploy for money.

F Office Depot and their crappy bussiness practices. I hope they go under or get bought out by Dunder Millfin or something.

fail for not having a copy/fax/scanner at home to do it.

I have no idea how OD stays in business. when i go to the one near my house to buy a pen im the only one shopping and like 5 employees acting busy.

It's all a "simulation."

They don't email files like that because eventually somebody in an email chain 2 months later will email them back wanting changes or some stupid bullshit.

Not to mention liability, if they email sensitive documents that are later leaked they can be blamed or sued. Sure they can probably prove they didn't do it but that costs money.

Should've bought a scanner while you were there. What are they; $50? Even better, just export your document to pdf from the creation software you used.

Just wanted to give those who follow me an update. I stopped by the first Office Depot on my way home from work yesterday. Luckily there was only one person ahead of me this time. So I had it scanned, and they emailed it to the address I typed in. Went through perfectly. And when I went to pay, I busted out my credit card, but was told the total was only 89 cents. 89 cents!!!! Hahaha, Office Depot is back on my good list (well, the one I went to, the one that tried to BS me into buying a flash drive I will never, ever go to again).

Oh, and this shows those of you who were like "Office Depot can't email it to you for these dumb reasons" that you had absolutely no freaking idea what you were talking about.

Thanks, and I hope this gets everyone closure on this as it did me!

Make an "Office Depot is awesome!" thread, you're veering off topic!!!!!
