I bought a 100 cake box at the beginning of the summer and it was ok until a few days ago. I've had about 4 verify failures in the last 10 I burned. I'm barely halfway through the spindle so I have some left.

Same here. I had some OD +R or -R bought a couple of months ago. Tried to use them yesterday, and they are burning at 4X only in my HP Lightscribe drive.

I meant compatibility for set-top DVD players. Reason I ask is I have Sony DVD RW+ that I play video files burned in Nero and some of the disks work ok, others have a hard time being read (maybe due to the burn at a lower bitrate to fit more data?) so I was wondering if going with RW- might be a better option if using it for video that has to be burned at a little lower than the standard rate.
