What i've done is print out the shopping cart with the discount and went to pick it up at the store. You might want to do the same thing to be sure that you're getting it with the discount. BTW, there are also 3 FREE dvd's with the Toshiba....

Here is the fine print from the email OD sent:

I fisrt talked to a sale rep to make sure that they have it in stock then ask to talk to the manager and said that i was going to order it online when i released that it might not make it on time so just to be sure and save them the shipping, i came to pick it up in person. I did it two times this week, on Monday for the microtek 15' LCD and on Wednesday for the Toshiba Satellite 3005-S304.

Free DVD movies by mail-in rebate
Purchase any of the selected Toshiba Satellite notebooks shown below before December 31, 2001 and received three select DVD movies via mail-in rebate (offer details on rebate form).

OD don't know about it, check the detail on bestbuy's web site, it's a Toshiba offer so they have too. Go to http://www.bestbuy.com/ and search for 3005-S304
Actually they offer $150 rebates instead of just the $100 from Toshiba....

Mawashi,

How can you use the $150 rebate from BB if you buy the laptop from OD? The $150 rebate clearly has a big Best Buy logo on it.

By the way, thanks "Bit" for this HOT DEAL. I was very skeptical earlier about the 20% off the entire purchase, but was I wrong.

I just got back from the B&M OD store with a new laptop. I really wanted the Toshiba 3005-S304, but currently OOS. Here's what I had to do: (Find out first if the item is in stock at the local store)

I called the Manager ahead of time and that I was going to order an item online and pick it up at his store. But "oh my god, (gasp) it's out of stock now, can you assist me on getting this order, a Toshiba 3005-S304". He stated that he could give me that price but I would have to provide the coupon code, and I told him that the referral code is hidden and the 20% is taken off during checkout. I then called the OD Web Helpdesk and asked nicely if I can get the coupon code. The CSR informed me that the coupon is only good online, but I informed her that if this was in stock, I would have ordered it and picked it up at the store with no problem. She stated that it is the store manager's discretion to accept this. I then went to the local store, went online and then search for the manager to show him my cart for verification. (I had to place an order on another laptop that was currently in stock). I informed him about my conversation with the CSR and as a precaution, we called the OD Web Helpdesk together for confirmation. Voila. This only took less than 10 minutes.

I did the same deal on the KDS Rad 5 only I printed the web page and showed manager. He said he'd rather me buy it from him than online. I hooked it up tonight and it is a sweet monitor---plus I've now got a friend at OD for all their future deals!!

I ordered the Satellite and picked it up at the store. Total including tax was $1369.60. There was a coupon for a $100 gift card in the sales ad. Final cost minus gift card and rebate - $1169.60.

Nice laptop...now I need a deal on a case, access point and card 😉

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could send me the screen capture of your shopping cart for the $287 KDS monitor (the capture used to purchase the monitor in store). I seemed to have missed out on the 20% off deal so I need a pritout to pricematch it. Thanks alot. Please send to gm63@cornell.edu

I wasn't aware of a gift certificate. Is this a local offer only?

***EDIT***

I found this Link

Too bad that there are no Office Depot in my place

Booyah! Just picked one up at the local OD, with a printout of the e-mail, online cart and ad special. Just like Chardin and bcs. I kinda feel guilty though. The manager was really nice to me. 😱 Left with the gift card, 20% off, mail-in rebate and 3 free DVD's receipt. 🙂 Thanks to bit for his assistance.

JHawk, is the KDS monitor a good deal at that price? All I found was $350-20%=$280. I didn't think that was cheap for a 15" TFT. Is there a rebate or gift card included in the purchase that I missed to make it hot?

Thanks,

Curly
