Office/Cubicle Etiquette

The office is in desperate need of a refresher course in etiquette. Does anyone know of/have a nice document that I can print out and put in everyone's mailbox or something?

I am getting sick of the speakerphones/meetings in cubicles/constant interruptions about nonsense...

Everyone here needs to be reminded at how this is a place where (a few) actually do work and don't sit on conference calls WHERE 3 PEOPLE IN A ROW OF CUBICLES ARE ALL ON SPEAKERPHONE ON THE SAME CONFERENCE CALL!!!!!! (think annoying echos).

If anyone can help me out, thanks. I need something better (more official) than me printing out "Stop being a retard. KTHXBYE"

Trust me - I can relate. What is needed just as much is something like, "How Not To Be An Idiot Every Day Of Your Life" manual. I only say this because for those people that are causing the interruptions and making noise (there are plenty in our office) act the same way at home, in public, in the office and so on.

Basically it amounts to people being idiots. And that, my friend, is quite unstoppable! 😛

I've thought of sending something to one of the higher-ups in my office, but I'd never want to be known as the whiner. I just throw my earbuds in and work.

hahah, that is brutal.. i am in a cubicle here with a few other employees around me, but no real problems worth mentioning. hope you get them tamed soon 😛

Thanks knight, I printed that out to use here at our office! The main thing that stood out to me was "gum popping". My cube neighbor is notorious for this!!!! ARGH!

 Thanks. This is going to get some circulation in our office as well.

We've just consolidated our office to one floor recently, and it is pretty tight now. We definitely need to clue some people in to the finer points of privacy and respect in the new environment.

You are not alone. I have both managers and peers that have little to no manners, and often exhibit this condition. Sometimes I wonder if it would be just as inappropriate to tape them and send it to the upper management--citing the spcific workcenter'division, of course. Unfortunately, this would not do much as everyone in my company seems only concerned with themselves.

I hope it helps...we've had it posted in our area for awhile, and the leads try to bring it up in meetings to help awareness. Our standard cube is 6x6 or 6x8, so we're packed in here, and etiquette is always an issue.

Now if we could just get people to stop burning their microwave popcorn....

This has since been circulated throughout our entire corporation.

I forwarded the link anonymously to a higher-up, and within a few days it was in everyone's mailbox.

Thanks.
