writing a paper and my professor doesnt want page numbers on the 1st page (the page after the title page) and he wants them to still be numbered in order...so 2nd page is 2 ect ect. when i set the header to "different first page" and insert page numbers...it numbers the second page 1. can you set it so that it still displays pages in order just not on the first page?

Which program in Office 2007? If you're talking about Word 2007: (from the "Help" files)

Remove the page number from the first page
Click anywhere in the document.
On the Page Layout tab, click the Page Setup Dialog Box Launcher, and then click the Layout tab.
Under Headers and footers, select the Different first page check box, and then click OK.
Notes
If the Different first page check box is already selected, do not clear it. Instead, delete the page number in the First Page Header or First Page Footer area.
If you want the first page to have a header or footer that does not include a page number, insert the header or footer that you want while the cursor is in the First Page Header or First Page Footer area.

So basically, if you have already checked the "different first page," just delete the page number. Everything else SHOULD be numbered correctly.
