Hrm... I finally can get this through work. I have not noticed it to load any faster than 2004 :( I'm also disappointed w/ the UI. I really do like Office 2007's ribbon surprisingly. Altho, this is probably more w/ the whole floating palettes than anything, it's very distracting.

It's a complete non-upgrade. The Exchange server support isn't that much better (It added out of office woo hoo!) it doesn't load noticeably faster and the interface is the same as 2004 with a half-hearted attempt to put a ribbon in.

Pass.

Yea.. the load times were what bothered me the most about 2004, and 2008 is only MARGINALLY better. I think it loads, maybe, 1-2 seconds faster than 2004, which is a joke.

Once the program is running it feels faster than 2004, so luckily if I'm using Word, Excel, or Entourage alot, I can keep them active for a much faster workflow. But when you compare them to iWork '08, it's ridiculous how slowly they load.

Yea, I'm not getting Office 2008 anytime soon, not that I don't love it but apparently my Department isn't getting an 2k8 license for another while.
It kinda sucks having multiple platforms, as I've already purchased one copy of 2k3 and 2 copies of 2k7...(2k4 is through my departmental license), and buying another copy of Office without a second Mac I can't justify.
