Does anyone out there have experience with the new Mac Office 2008 and access to a Sharepoint Site... how do they get along?

Really getting sick of downloading files individualy to work on them and having to re-upload them on the mac while my PC can just edit online.

parallels requires a x86 mac.

how well does parallels work with office? Is it worth a new mac?

i like it. i use it to run quicken and the netflix movie viewer. i know of people who use it with office 07 for the same reason you would. i don't know if i'd buy a new machine, but if you are looking to upgrade anyway...

edit: parallels is just like running windows. it requires a windows key and installs on a VM. you boot it up and everything like you would on a pc, but it's in a window.

Just to add to what fisher stated.

I prefer Fusion, it's faster, uses less memory and CPU cycles. Both Parallels and Fusion run in a mode without windows so it looks like it's a native app, and there is a full screen mode so it looks as if you're in Windows.

Either way, if you need to use Windows apps it's a warranted upgrade.
