Office 2000 SP2 released

Installed it, but still says SR1 in the About for each part of Office. Reinstalling it simply says that it already has been installed.

I noticed that, too. But the main executable version number is given for each app, and, if you click on the little "?" mark graphic on the MS download page you get another page with a table showing all the file versions for files that are replaced. Dumb of them not to just SHOW us "SP2" in Help|About, though. Especially since they're changing from calling the updates SRs to SPs. Every time I think Microsoft is getting it together on the update scene, they pull a dumb one like this!

Nonetheless, they'd have to do a lot more bad stuff now to make me really sore at them. I'm still revelling (after six months) in W2K Pro on my notebook. Nice OS. And even most of Office is tolerable now.

Regards,
Jim😉

There are quite a number of useful big fixes that I noticed in the SP2 Changes XL Workbook, but nothing really earth shattering. Worth getting, I think....it's only 9MB or so...not the usual 50MB.
