Office 2000 Assistant Locking up

I have installed Office 2000 on most PCs in the office here at work. I had many reports of Excel locking up, and sometimes Word. It could just be that they use Excel more often. These users had the Office Assistant running at the time and subsequently had disabled it. Soon after, they're lockups stopped.
