i just finished it....i loved it. The question is..Can you just go back to a specific chapter and change what you did or do you have to replay through the whole game?

yup you can just go to Chapter selection and just choose "no save", to do the things needed for the trophy... the only ones that don't work are the multiple chapter ones and ones for additional endings

I've still got to write something up officially with this game, but in the mean time I've got a bone to pick with this game. I mean, there is a serious plot hole, at least in my experience, so I need someone to explain some things to me.

I'm going to start out with saying I really like the game overall. Its brave in its approach, refreshing to the adventure game genre and fun to play, but I need some help figuring out some things in regards to the narrative. I've only played the game once, so perhaps I need to play through it once more.

1) How on earth did Shelby kill guy in the typewriter shop when I had control of him? There is no way on earth my guy (who was sitting in a chair btw) went in the back room and smashed him over the head while I had control like that. Plus, one of his thoughts was "Hrm, he's been back there a pretty long time--I better go check on him".

What a dupe! It feels cheap and, actually, makes me a little angry (nerd rage!). 🙂

2) Why did shelby go after the spoiled brat kid? My only thought here is that he was going to try to set him up? But that wasnt readily apparent in my playthrough.

Lets get on with this! 🙂

Yeah some of the reveals at the end seriously made me go "WTF?" It's like the devs just said, "Ok time to wrap this up and be done with it."

I thought the game was ok at best but after I finished it, I had no desire to play it again. Glad I rented it. 😀

One major plot hole that I didn't see explained is how Ethan Mars blacks out and then wakes up in that street with the origami in his hand...

1) Shelby was an unreliable narrator. This is a pretty common plot device used for misdirection and you'll also notice that there were no other witnesses as Lauren was distracted in the front. This also fits with Shelby's desire to get out before the cops arrive instead of straightening it out at the time. However, I can see why you would feel that this was cheap.

2) Depending on your actions in the firefight at the mansion you can get the explanations that the son was responsible for that particular killing, not Shelby. Shelby was going after him because he thought it was right, in the same way that he thought doing whatever it takes to find a perfect father was right.

3) The blackouts that Ethan suffered were explained as the result of his coma and the mentral trauma from losing his son. However, Ethan holding the origami figure was never explained as anything but simple misdirection and is one of the parts of the story I disliked. You could defend it by saying that Ethan knew about the Origami killer and that his alternate personality/subconcious created the origami figure as a way of expressing guilt... but I think that's a stretch.

, was it ever implied that shelby was buying drugs from him and using them on Ethan? I know Madison went there to find out about the apartment he owned, the one where Ethan cut his finger off.

I dont really get the doctor thing too much either.

This game, for me, was all over the place so I'm having a hard time following some of it.

- I know many people who would quit playing it after the first hour and if you need fast paced action in your games then skip this one.

Count me in as one of those people. I was bored and figured I'd give it a try. I was more bored while playing it. I couldn't even get through the demo before I quit and deleted it from my PS3. I would go back to GTA4 with a smile (a small, forced smile) before sitting through this game.

I was button mashing trying to find a "run/sprint" command but was unable to find one. I like to explore as much as possible in games, but if it takes me 10 minutes to cover a small area because I'm forced to walk slowly my patience disappears real quick.

Well, I just finished my first play through (and probably last) last night, and count me as one of the dissappointed. There are a number of things about this game that just bug me, and leave me feeling like I got ripped off 🙂. I guess I was expecting too much.

Ethan was arrested and getting interrogated, and I punched the cop and he pulled a gun on me

, and am now at the part where they showed in videos with the black guy in the car shop (I believe).

Still not fully sure if it is my type of game, but it is very good, and especially intense in some parts.

Okay, so major spoilers here, but I've gotta get this settled. I just finished the game, and...

How in the hell could Shelby be the killer? That makes no sense whatsoever. I got the ending where Shelby is the killer and comes in just after I rescue Shaun with Ethan and then Madison comes in then Shelby. Ethan gets shot, Shelby goes to run after Madison, ends up getting shot by Ethan. In the end Ethan, Shelby, Shaun go live happily ever after in a house together. Jayden died too, I guess from overdosing on whatever the hell he kept sniffing.
Anyways, again, how the hell could Shelby be the killer? It was apparent to me that it was the son of the construction guy at first, or at least he did do something, which apparently he did. I left the guy for dead when he said the kid was nothing and his son did do it, but Shelby seemed pissed at him...well of course, he's looking to find the killer..right? At the end he burned all the information I thought because he thought they had found Ethan, and he was the killer, and it was over. Then it turns out that he was the one who was the killer? How? How could he have killed the watch guy when I sat there and watched him just walk around until he said maybe I should go back there? The figure I fought in the club with Jayden was not that big either..

I can't tell whether I hate or love this game, and if I play through again and feel the same, I'm getting rid of it for Just Cause 2.

The scene where Ethan has to shoot the guy, I was just reading OPM, and it said 80% couldn't kill him, while the other 20% mainly killed him because they failed other objectives. It said the people who shot him and don't give a shit showed that they failed in what they were trying to convey...well I didn't give a shit honestly...afterward I justified it with a few thoughts, but I straight out shot him without really thinking (the I just want to save my damn son mentality I suppose?).

Just finished a play through and noticed a couple of things

The typewriter store scene made absolutely no sense, but that's been covered already.

This game isn't meant for multiple endings, if you try to see them all you can see the logic break down very quickly.

For example, if you've played the last couple of chapters a few times and changed some of your actions, the things Shelby does with Ethan and Shaun in the warehouse vary drastically. If it is just Ethan, Shelby lets Ethan save Shaun and gives Ethan a chance to kill Shelby or walk out. If you bring Jayden/Jayden&Madison to the warehouse, Sehlby tries to get a drop on Ethan before he can save Shaun and shoot them but then Jayden tackles Shelby. If you bring Madison and Ethan, Shelby lets Ethan save Shaun and then tries to kill Ethan/Madison because they "discovered his secret".

The Construction Guys Dad lays flowers at the grave of a child who accidently died at his site (with no fault to the dad) for 30 years but doesn't give a shit about the kid who his son murdered?
