Buried in work this week, so I didn't have time to make the thread sooner.

LOL Cam.

I did not have ANY issue with Cam's comments. For him, it probably is strange to hear a woman ask analytical questions about football as he probably doesn't have women in his life who cares about football (I don't know ANY women personally who give a rat's tail about the sport, let alone WR "routes").

I don't see how his comment, probably in bad taste, was a attack on women's ability to be good reporters. That's outrage out of context and conclusion jumping.

As usual, the bored and no-life-having ready to be outrage keyboard warrior segment of our society took the opportunity to call someone as racist, in this case, a "sexist". It is a shame that he was forced to apologize for being honest and speaking from personal experience.

We claim to want authenticity and honesty, instead of the usual cookie-cutter prepared statements and coached replies from athletes and political correctness, well, as long as that "authenticity" agrees with our opinions and philosophy.

Anywho, here are the games and picks!!

There are a few really great matchups here, but man there are a lot of stinkers.

Same thing I thought. Not a good week for football.

Cam lost his Dannon endorsement, which prompted Colbert to say that was too bad, because it was really funny to see a guy talking about yogurt.

Also, Go Eagles!

Wow, your diatribe about Cam is almost as sad as Cam's comments in the first place.

Diatribe against Cam? Men eating yogurt? Help, you're being oppressed!

It's just a f*cking late night talk show joke, and a mild one at that. Get a life, snowflake.

For the record, I think the media backlash against Cam was way out of proportion, though. He just needs a better media minder, is all.

The ironing? Those deeply offended by Cam's stupidly naieve comments are as thin-skinned as you are.

I was talking to Rob.

And, uh, I don't think I'm the one triggered here. Snowflake.

Please accept my ultra sincere internet apology for thinking that you're unattributed response coming right after mine was meant for me.

Fwiw, I don't think his comments were a diatribe either . . .snowflake.

Hmmmm, does this mean we two snowflakes constitute a mini-blizzard? :p

Weather conditions aside, perhaps we can both agree that the deeper Cam Newton controversy is the refs allowing him to get pounded without calling roughing the passer in stiuations where other QBs would get the call.

Amazing how absolutely horrible a team can become after losing one guy (Arizona). Holy shit they are just awful.

I'm just disappointed he apologized. Its time to stand up to PC where words spoken are true.
The female question was apparently the first time he had heard such a question. If she can't handle the obvious she will likely be too hurt down the line by similar honesty. But stay with it and don't back down.

Wasn't a diatribe, and his comments weren't bad in my opinion, and its a joke that he had to apologize for being honest about his personal experience.

If anyone went on any sort of diatribe, its those people accusing him of somehow saying that women aren't fit to be reporters. To infer that from those comments is stupid.

I agree that he never got such a question from a woman before, so it is sort of weird for him to hear it. I think that many people understand that, but because of the social media mob-mentality, neither they nor Cam will defend those comments for what they really were: based on personal experience.

All true, but, please . . . as a wealthy "sports person conglomerate" with an agent and a publicist and a an entire media savvy management team getting him all those product endorsements, as a person who has been in the public eye for some years now, dealing with the press and all, playing that game, just how clueless would he have to be not to know that you don't publicly laugh at a reporter based on gender?

It's 2017. Even Saudi Arabia is now letting their be-burka-bedecked wimmins drive. He should have known better. He should have known how this public perception game is played, no?

Now, yeah, it was obvious to me that he did not mean to diss or demean that reporter at all, but come on! He really, really, really should have known better.

I see where you're coming from with laughing based on gender, but do you want honesty and authenticity, or canned responses?

I don't understand that first down with the Cowboys. Getting a first down is not like the goal line. The ball doesn't just have to cross the first down distance while the player is in play, to get the first down. It is where the ball is when forward progress stops or where the defender has the ball when marked down. His forward progress was stopped but he was not down yet, and he extended his arm then pulled it back, all while not being down yet. Then finally he is marked down and the ball is well before the first down line to make.

Greenbay vs Cowboys. Wow! What an ending.

I just knew if you give A.Rogers any time left GB would drive without issue given how poorly Cowboys defense are when it matters.

Aaron Rodgers is Gawd! If Olivia Munn hadn't set the bar so high, I'd offer to fellate him out of sheer gratitude. And, given that his heroics beat the Cowboys, I'd might even consider swallowing. Salty! :p

not as bad as the browns

Are you inferring that the Browns were ever good at any point in the last....20 years? especially because of one person?

It seems that Arizona just can't do crap without D Johnson in the backfield.
