Couch.

I'm getting a couch in the immediate future. I like the sand colored one, but wondering if it's a bad idea due to how easy it might be for it to become stained. Also, the black is $100 more ($800 vs $900).

Have you actually sat on that couch?

I've been unimpressed with Ikea's couches. They don't seem very comfortable at all and they aren't really that cheap.

Yeah i've sat on the couch before. Just trying to figure out if the sand color is a bad idea in terms of getting stains.

Sand will stain, black will collect dust. Your only choice is orange.

That is a hideous couch, imo obviously, by the way.

I'd pay the extra for the black. Be different if you could actually wash the cover. Dry-clean only. 😛

Try to avoid Ikea cushion products. They do not last and sags almost immediately even under light use. Things like simple desks are fine though. Otherwise I think they are disposable and really are a waste of money.

If you want modern looks, CB2 is cheap and slightly better than Ikea quality. If you want better quality look at Room & Board which I think has good design and quality for the price. Design Within Reach makes some nice stuff but they can get a bit pricey.

What is CB2?

Edit: just checked out Room & Board. They have nice stuff but out of price range for what I'm looking for. This is for ye olde bachelor pad and I'm saving to go back to school in a couple of years.

That's a sofa. Not a fucking couch. A sofa. Get it right, goddammit. It's clearly labeled right on the Ikea web site. What the fuck is wrong with you? 😡

My grandmother had a white couch for well over 10 years. It's not been until lately that it has stained. Does help if you are careful with it, and if the cushion covers can be removed. Otherwise, just invest in a lot of stain cleaner.
