Dear Californians: Please vote NO on any proposition that asks you for more funds, more bonds, more fees, more taxes. That means NO on:
  1. 51 - NO - New $9 billions bond to "new constructions and modernization" of schools and community college facilities - What happened to the money that's already there from taxes, other bonds, the lottery, etc..? Not to mention the multiple hikes in tuition? No, just no.
  2. 52 - NO - I'm admittedly a bit fuzzy on this one, but it has to do with extending a statue that supposedly "help" Medi-Cal recipients, but isn't that what Obamacare is for?
  3. 55 - NO - Tax extension on a tax bill that was introduced in 2009 that was set to expire 2017. How about you guys going to need to cut back on your pensions and rampant abuse of the system. I don't need to pay more taxes.
  4. 56 - NO - New $2/pack cigarette tax, supposed to go to help stop smoking. Yeah, right...

Oh, and YES on 53, requires any revenue bonds over 2 billions to be approved by voters and cannot be broken into smaller projects to skirt this requirement.

Here's the rest of what I'm voting on:
  1. 54 - Yes - Bills need to be published publicly for at least 72 hours before they can vote on it.
  2. 57 - Yes - Paroles consideration for non-violent felons, we need less people in prison for stupid craps like marijuana possession.
  3. 58 - No - You're in America, learn English, don't need to teach the curriculum in another language. ESL classes are there to get you up to speed.
  4. 59 - Yes - campaign contribution reform
  5. 60 - No - requiring condoms in pr0n. WTF? Who does that?!!
  6. 61 - Yes - State to negotiate prescription drug prices with pharma companies
  7. 62 - No - repealing death penalty - placing death row inmates on life indefinitely. Phuq no!
  8. 63 - No - requires DOJ authorization for purchase firearm and ammunitions? Are you shitting me?
  9. 64 - Yes - legalization of marijuana. It's time. There are far more harmful legal substances out there, and this will bring revenues to the state so I don't have to get fleeced more... or so I think.
  10. 65 - No - grocery bags charge. Just no.
  11. 66 - Yes - limit appeal time and duration for death penalties
  12. 67 - No - more grocery bags shenanigans.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me on the issues, I just want to be a bit proactive about this whole democracy thing. Even if one person sees this and decide to go vote, it's worth my time.

Just out of curiosity, which prop(s) did you not agree with, and why?

You're wrong. Here in Colorado we don't see shit changed or taxes reduced with the profits. All we've seen is an increase in the homeless, more crime and ER visits. But I do hope California passes it so that way all these idiots will go there where it's warm and leave us along.

On the ballot here is a Cig tax. They don't even know WTF they'll do with the taxes collected!

That's why I put that disclaimer in there, because I know I'll get fleeced one way or another. Believe me, we have more than enough of EVERYTHING that you mentioned. But hey, at least it may bring some more jerbs...

I voted no on 57 because I want all thieves (including identify theft) to stay in prison for ever. I am fine with the death penalty for thieves.

you still have the death penalty? ffs.. is it 1954 in california?
Well, I'm not cool with someone committing a heinous crime that would deserve the death penalty, end up getting fed for life while not serving any purpose for society. It's an unnecessary drain on our society.

I think you're forgetting that druggies are WAAAAAY more likely to be violent offenders. Regardless, keep them in prison for the duration. They earned it fairly. Some people only learn the hard way.

Otherwise I agree with the OP's points. :)

Let's not forget the added benefit of eradicating poor people for selling these cigarettes.
You Trump supporters must wet yourselves at the thought of poor people being treated like crap all the time.

While I disagree with your statement, it beats the hell out of eugenics and the left, right?

I was going to move tonight, but if the person who I don't want to win gets elected I think I'm just going to drink heavily instead.

Think I'd kill myself if our ballot was that big. As it were, mine was about 10 selections deep, three of which were yes/no and another 3 with no opponent. and some how people seemed to be acting like they were writing an essay on their paper instead of filling in up to 10 damn bubbles. And let's not talk about those bringing notebook paper with them, not sure if there was an extra credit if you show your work portion I wasn't aware of.
