I used to go all the time when I was little with my parents (not for the beer... hehe) when we lived in germany.

I'd like to go back soon once I'm financially secure though. Sounds fun.

I read the day-by-day. I should get some more babe pics just for that, no? :)

I went to the fest in 2004, and I definitely should have read a little more about it before I went. Your recount of the event along with the tips are very helpful.

Not sure if flying into the other towns+train tickets are cheaper....I looked into going just to get an ideal of cost of a future trip in August and a round trip ticket from Indy to Munich was only $750....So you would almost have to get a ticket for sub $500 to even think about it, which I still don't think I would do it just because of the time factor. I went in the Fall of 2005, though when I was studying aboard in England. I flew into Frankfort Hahn and took a train down. Good times. I plan on going back in 2010 for the 200th year. :)

Flights: Except in our case, he booked our tix using SkyMiles ($0.00) and such seats were not available even as far as back as November 2006, so JFK to FRA and STR to ATL were our best options. Otherwise, you're right.

Well, I was just making sure since, in 2005 it was cheaper for me to use RyanAir into Frankfort Hahn and take a train down then to fly into Munich Directly from London :) Also the German Countryside was quiet nice, but the time factor is what kills my use of trains...I am trying to get a group of ten people so we can reserve a table for dinner at the 2010 Oktoberfest I am close to it already...

That could be my server too. A lot of content, getting hammered.

But Telnap is good...don't blame them :)

$750 is pretty reasonable.
