Off the wall problem

Facebook tagging.

I have been all over the net googling...oh, please.....ugh.

Suddenly the ONLY people I can tag are people I am NOT friends with. It's working the complete opposite of normal. This has been going on for 3 weeks. I can tag photos, suggestions for people I know come up in the search engine but on posts? No such luck.

So if I put @sarah on a post it will not show my friends or daughter just a dozen Sarahs I DON'T know.

I'm trying to find someone somewhere that can maybe tell me if there is a setting that should be changed? OR somewhere I can ask who might be able to help me?

Free iPod?

You know, new people do actually join this place every once in a while. I know it's kind of hard to believe anybody would want to be a part of this group but it happens. Calling spam on every new post, even the ones without so much as a link, is kind of dumb.

Think about it.

When the first post is in the OT sub-forum instead of a technical forum, I suspect spammer.

Facebook question? Ask your Facebook friends.

Computer overclocking question? Register on AT and start a new thread.

Found an ATOT thread through Google that you absolutely MUST respond to? Register and reply to that thread. (like tjalan1960 did here)

:colbert:

...anyway, there are other factors.

Female name on a tech forum? Check.

Still only one post. Care to make a wager?

We'll see... it's a tech related question and this is a tech related forum. The average user wouldn't distinguish the computer help we're known for vs. the computer help the OP is looking for. I can see where the confusion is.

I also don't see how at this very moment we are being sold something with the OP...I ain't too smart though.

They sell an ATF account? Who would buy one of these and where can I get one?

They sell dozens (hundreds?) of accounts established at various forums all at once.

On an even bigger scale, thousands of Twitter and YouTube accounts are farmed to be sold.

Gorilla marketing needs trusted accounts to sneakily promote products with.

Thank you. My friend told me to try this forum and I thought...well, it's kind of awkward to just dive in and ask a question. But what do I have to lose?

And wth are you people talking about? Sell what? Spam? Come on. I seriously need some help with this. I THOUGHT since I was given this link I MIGHT find someone, anyone who had dealt with this issue. And email Mark? Yeah, thanks for the real answer.

BTW, I have been posting about this issue for weeks on Facebook. My friends have no clue as to why I lost this feature. I tried to do that stupid ask a question on Yahoo and got simple instructions on how to tag. I KNOW how to tag. I was hoping someone with more experience than I have would just know this. It shows how desperate I am when I come here and get razzed. I chose this section...off topic because where the hell else was I supposed to go? It isn't like I didn't feel stupid going to a tech forum for a Facebook issue.

Good morning (left coast time). As a forum Admin, I'm on my morning spam patrol, and this is to let our members know that I have found nothing that suggests miriama59 is a spammer so please give her the benefit of any doubts you may have until she shows us otherwise.

miriama59 -- We hope you enjoy yourself on our forums and get the help you seek from our members. :)

You didn't get razzed, anyway. I was just noting that it was a high probability you weren't a legit new user.

Looks like you may be legit after all.

I'm not much help with FB questions, though. Anyone else in ATOT have her problem?

Damn... should have taken that one. At least I still get to be right.

Anyway OP, I have not experienced your problem before. Have you tried logging in with a different browser? Between IE, Chrome, Firefox and Opera you have a number of different choices to see if it acts different anywhere else.

Facebook tagging.

I have been all over the net googling...oh, please.....ugh.

You need to make sure your friends list is right and that @sara still has that as sara's name.
Suddenly the ONLY people I can tag are people I am NOT friends with. It's working the complete opposite of normal. This has been going on for 3 weeks.
Have you used multiple computers?

I'm trying to find someone somewhere that can maybe tell me if there is a setting that should be changed? OR somewhere I can ask who might be able to help me?

Did you go to their customer service?

Just checked in to make sure I didn't leave anyone hanging. I have done all of the above. Emailed CS and got zip except a standard reply. Tried different browsers, computers and checked settings. I am stumped. Thanks anyway. :)
