Heh when was there a time in this country when we werent restricting somebody's right to vote? Who was and wasnt allowed to initially vote in this country when it was formed?
That said I do think it is time we moved the election date to a Saturday. It is a rather outdated system we have voting in the middle of the week. I suspect it is a holdover from a time when people worked on farms and had to drive into town to vote on a horse and buggy.
Gotta make sure we deflect as much as possible off the horrible performance record of this admin, find as many other non-issues to deflect to........
Obama and his supporters have but two issues to run on: Redistribution of wealth and Racism. The tactic is deflection.
Ever notice that Liberals are spring loaded and safety wired to the "you are a racist" position? It's sort of funny......sort of.

Did you read the quote you moron? How is that not racist?

Just out of curiosity, did Mr. Priesse actually say "read African American" or is this just an editorial comment?
So it's ok for whites to get extended voting hours but african americans to not get the same treatment. Gotcha. Racist.
The only one deflecting is you. This thread is not about Obama. It is about the racist Ohio GOP.

p.s., The part of the quote that said "read African Americans" was not, repeat, NOT said by Mr. Priesse. That is just an opinion without facts to back it up.
LOL!
Yes I read Phokus' quote.
I was called a racist because I have a different opinion. LOL!
I think you are a racist, too. Why? I don't like your opinions. It's logical by your standards.
How many times am I going to have to post this?
Here......again, is my voting policy.
1. All American citizens that want to vote and are eligible to vote, should vote.
2. No non-citizens, dead people, made up people or multiple voting should be allowed.
3. All votes cast and ONLY those votes cast should be counted.
I don't see am ambiguity there. I could be wrong.
As to the "You are a racist" comments. Please refer back to my predictions of many months ago when I said that obama has but two issues to run on: Redistribution of wealth and Racism.
If one would do a bit of thinking one would see that it is the Democrat Party that is racist. It started with the War on Poverty and Voting Rights legislation by LBJ. See if you can think it through.
I think the real problem is that the phrase "off the record" exists at all.
It's complete bullshit. If you say it, it should be quotable and you should have the integrity to stand behind whatever you say.
You say that when the articles clearly say otherwise, just because you'd prefer it to be true.p.s., The part of the quote that said "read African Americans" was not, repeat, NOT said by Mr. Priesse. That is just an opinion without facts to back it up.
No, you were called a racist because you're totally fine with whites having one set of voting rights while blacks have another.
This from a guy who calls almost half the nation his enemy...you know the ones the rest of us call them fellow Americans.
If you don't have a counter to his argument, why not come up with one rather than wasting space with an unrelated personal critique?
Prove it. You are wrong.
No, you were called a racist because you're totally fine with whites having one set of voting rights while blacks have another.
Read the story. It is a fact that those words, "read African Americans" were NOT said. They were added by the author of the article.
That's nice that that is your policy, but you defend and vote for people who want exaclty the opposite of that.
Photo IDs are free in the states with voter ID laws.
Photo ID laws are equivilant to voter registration laws in that it requires people to actively do something in order to be allowed to vote, and that this something is both easy and free to do.
It is a fact that you are wrong. The paper printed the exact quote. You don't want to believe it so you make excuses. The guy is racist.
