Of virusscans and patriots

I'm just about to install our email virus scan that will filter out and quaranteen potential virus-infected emails from our users mailboxes. Is this an infingement of our users' liberty? If so, I'd rather let our network become riddled with viruses and have all our sensitive data hacked than remove their right to double click on strange-sounding attachments.

is it the company's network? then they hold all the rights and the employees hold none as far as whats permissable and what isn't.

I'm a SysAdmin.

I do what is necessary to protect the network so it can be used for business, with the blessing of those I report to.

If that means filtering out all exectuables, spam, viruses, video/audio clips, or anything else then so be it. As long as business can be conducted over the network I have wide latitude.

I'm only talking about emails, password security is another can-o-worms altogether.
