I went with the Asus P8Z68-V Pro myself. So far, I'm loving it. The layout is great, excellent overclocker, runs pretty cool with stock heatsink and the UEFI BIOS is very nice. The Asus AI Suite II software is pretty nice too, but I don't use it much.

PS. I really like being able to have a discrete graphics card and use QuickSync.

What ticked me off from jumping on the V-Pro is that it doesn't have the PLX chip, so you cannot utilize all PCI-E lanes if you have all slots filled. I know, I know...will never have those slots occupied, but the lack of it just ticks me off.

With me, it was that and no dual gigabit ethernet with port teaming+offload engine+jumbo-frames.

Got the Extreme4 recently - the layout is really good, it runs great. first time using UEFI and that was a really smooth transition. happy with it so far

How easy to OC it? Does it have so many options (like the MIVE) that they confuse the heck out of you or does it just have a few options to set, then let it take off?

The UD7 is a lot more high-end with much more in the box than that UD3, but your are right it does have HDMI.

I guess that's subjective - im a tard compared to most here, but it's presented in an easy enough manner for me. not too much overload, so it is easier to get into

How's the UEFI bios from ASRock? I heard theirs is shabby compared to Asus.... Then again I'm only asking for undervolting for my NAS, but in the event I want to turn this into an OC rig someday, I'd like flexibility.

I got an AsRock Z68 Extreme 4 and found the board great. It comes packed with goods, lots of fan headers, and I found myself a huge fan of the power and reset buttons on the motherboard as well as a Clear CMOS button on the back panel. I miss the debug display since my good old Abit AN7, so it's good to have one of those as well. I think I'm getting too old to deal with guessing, jumpers and screwdrivers to work on motherboards during testing.

I'm no overclocking expert, but the options on the UEFI seem to be pretty solid. The board is also perfectly stable so far, but I only had it for a couple days now, so the jury is still out.
