Yeah well, it was around the time when I realized that most of the classes I had were completely useless... the work I was doing was to keep me busy rather than teach me something... and most of my teachers were teachers because they were control freaks.

It must be said of this book that it prepared me for Steinbeck's East of Eden, truly the most enjoyable reading experience that I have ever had.

I have yet to read Grapes of Wrath, which is sitting on my table right now...can't wait to start...


Did you here about the Steinbeck Library in Salinas..they had to close it down recently due to lack of funding...sad..really sad..
