On my tongue? 😕 I thought I had bit my tongue as it was hurting when I rubbed it against my teeth.

Nope, turns out it was a big fucking whitehead on the side of my tongue. My camera's busted otherwise I would definitely post pics.
 
I doubt it's actually a 'pimple', likely an enlarged/swollen taste bud. I get them from time to time as well, and annoying as fuck because they are extremely sensitive.

edit: not technically 'taste buds', as taste isn't specifically the job of these little bumps iirc. But I cannot remember the true name of these bumps that are on the upper surface of the tongue.
 
Yeah I don't think you can get a pimple on your tongue. I'm almost positive it's an inflamed tastebud. Those suck.

Thank you, I learned something through a linked article. One of the tastes your tongue can detect is "Umami", lol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umami

I think a pimple can only develop in a pore in the skin, possibly associated with a hair follicle. If your tongue is hairy, you've got other issues.

I have one of these right now, and it's very annoying..
 
I had one of those internal nose pimples last week - DAMN are those painful and not really curable. The inflamed papillae phenomenon is also super annoying and unpleasant.
 
I was going to post a link to a hair tongue and say at least you don't have this but after searching for it on google images I disgusted myself. Do try it.
 
Heh, thread title reminds me of a time I spent a couple months working at a military clinic. Only a few females were stationed there and all the medics were male. One day a chick walks in a says she needs to be looked at cause she has an odd bump "down there". So the guy goes in the examining room after she has stripped and layed down.

After he comes out he's talking with the head medic guy and says her mysterious bump was just an ingrown hair (assuming she was doing the shave down south although I didn't ask givin that he was a fairly stout religious type). The best part was that after being told she asked him if he could pop it or do something to take care of it. 🙂

He declined and recommended to her to have her roomate take do the work.
