Are there OEM versions of the newcastle 3400 and newcastle 3200?

You sacrifice a 2yr warranty and HSF by going OEM in addition to saving only a couple of dollars.

I want to get a seperate heatsink, fan, and thermal paste. And someone told me if you don't use the AMD Heatsink/Fan it voids the warranty.

So you are saying the retail AMD HSF's aren't good enough? Many forum members use the retail hsf while achieving respectable overclocks.

Sorry, read the warrenty terms. It is true :|

EDIT: I doubt they would know what HSF you used on a return as long as you were careful

I'll guess i'll pay three bucks more for the retail, even if i don't use the heatsink and fan I might be able to use it on something else =)

Makes sense its 3 bucks... plus like i said i doubt they'd know if you returned a cpu that you'd used a different HSF on 😉

I've seen instances where the stock HS/fan cannot shift heat as fast as it's produced... hence it HEATS UP the cpu until the system crashes. LOL.
