I recently acquired a Dell restoration CD that came loaded with Windows XP Pro. Now, I have been told that I can use that version on another computer with a few file changes and reburing the directories to another CD. Then, a crack would have to be applied to bypass Windows activation.

Has anyone done this yet?

 
Not I, mostly because that Dell restoration CD was ment to be used on a Dell only. Thats why all of that protection crap is there.
 
The Dell restoration CD will be preconfigured to restore the Dell system. It might chock on a different system.

Maybe somebody has the cracked or coporate copy out there and would be willing to share/sell you a copy?
