OEM Win XP product code question

tennesota

Lifer
I want to reinstall Windows XP on a HP D220 desktop workstation. I cannot find my OEM disk so I likely will buy another one.

My missing in action OEM disk was pre-SP1. If I but a newer OEM disk will my older product code with it.

You would likely need to call into Microsoft to activate it as your key code is for HP OEM VLK type of OS.
You could call HP and see if they can sell you a replacement OS CD with the latest service pack already in it.n

I've reinstalled XP on a Dell with an XP SP3 slipstreamed disc (made myself), and the Dell was an SP1 or pre-SP1 computer and I didn't have any problems.
