OEM or retail ?

Im buying a new p4 upgrading from a 1.7ghz willy 256k L2 and wanted to ask;
1.8GHz - OEM - Northwood - 60 Day Warranty $127.00
1.8GHz - Retail - Northwood - 3 Year Warranty $156.00
Ive bought all oem up to now, but i intend on overclocking this P4 so if it were to just "not work anymore" i could get it replaced, but is it really worth the extra $$? And are retail cpu's better in any way? thanks

Also, Im interested in a cheap but effective HSF such as the thermaltake P4 dragon orb which is copper base+50CFM and only 23 bucks @ocsystem.com
Thanks

Go retail, without a doubt. You'll also get a decent retail HS+F with it, that should be adequate for cooling. My retail HS+F for my 1.6A was good enough to run it at 1.7V, I'm using the Dragon Orb now (on my 1.8), which is OK.. Only thing I like about it is the speed control, but I ended up using the low setting anyways.

One more vote for retail, but try to ask your reseller if you can get a C1 stepping 1.8A (although you should be very lucky to get one of those).

It should be a SL6LA package. However, any package should let you go to 2.4 at least.

OEM FOR LIFE! the only diff is you get a perty heatsink and papers with the retail oem skips out on all of that and just gives u the g00ds

Well, don't forget the warranty. OEM chips have no warranty other than what the retailer gives you which is usually very short.
