I got 0534 MPMW 165 retail chip last thur..early chip too

I hit 2610@1.46bios vcore, 1.44 xp..12hr 52min prime95...when i stopped but it does not look like I will get much more without to 1.53v...not sure it is worth it..I would love the magic 2.7ghz

also what are the advatage of running say 8x 325=2600 vs 9x 290=2610..ram ends up the same..is it worth stressing the mobo...I have a DFI SLI DR that should be able to get to 325fsb

so far after testing an Opteron 165@2610 @1.46v in bios/1.4v xp ...12hrs 50min prime 95 stable when I stopped it this am....

I am not too impressed after 2-3days...my boot times are the same....I have installed amd driver and hotfix...I will reinstall winxp later but I have not seen much improvement...

clearly, I have not done any multitasking and I realized when i bought this I wanted to see what dual core was like...should have waited ..prices are dropping since AMD came and said this will be around..so the gouging is going to stop

But I doubt it is worth the extra cost unless you are building a new rig

I am going to see if I can get thram to go to 260...but I pretty sure 250 was max on the ram...and I can not get a divider to reach this speed again

Dual Priming mine right now - 10x250 looks good @ 1.38v. Runs a bit warmer than my 165 but I am guessing the AS has to cure. Current temps are 47c with a stock Big Typhoon and 1 thermistor controlled 80mm rear case fan. Pretty damned quiet. Going to be rebooting shortly to bump up the speeds

Update - 10x260 @ 1.41 - 1.42v (via speedfan reading). Temps between 50-51c running dual prime.

I'm weak. I ordered an oem 170 from Monarch on Saturday which just arrived.

I got the same stepping as Punkydammit: CCBWE 0530TPMW

No way to know for sure, but it doesn't look like it's had a heatsink on it.

I'm waiting for a Si-120 and a VF700-Cu that should arrive tommorow since the Ninja I'm using doesn't fit very well on my Neo2 Plat. Maybe I'll have some OC results by Friday.

Now, since i'm also replacing my ATI silencer with the Zalman, if I can just crowbar a NB47J on the northbridge, I'll be content. At least for a day or two.

My unnessary purchases so far this fall:

Ninja replaced XP-90 which will be replaced by Si-120
3200 winnie @2.3 stock v replaced with 170 @ ?

I got mine three days ago. Still waiting for mobo for Christmas Neo4 I think I wanted. Still would appreciate a suggestion for mobo, but I got a CCBWE 0546mpmw. I'm kinda feeling some remorse. Seems like almost everyone has recieved an ealier dated chip and this was even OEM. Kinda suck for me but I'll let you know how everything eventually turns out. Also, I'm having touble finding the guide to overclocking these. I did see it once. I haven't had any experience with DC's yet. If someone could please pm me or post it here? Thanks. GL OCing.
