see: ATI RADEON
It does not say that it is an LE.
The LE version at newegg is at $82 shipped.
This is probably a better deal, assuming it is not an LE.

Good find if it really isn't an LE. There is barely any information on the card though.

It might be an LE.
I called them and talked to someone but the salesperson didn't have much of a clue.
They did say that it is the one that doesn't have a fan on it.
So, What does THAT mean?
Hmm...

LE is not a bad thing. So you have to rig your own fan and change some registry settings and get a program to over clock it from default. So what? Its worth saving $80-90. I am using an old socket 7 fan and it works fine. However, I still want to benchmark it vs. my old Geforce256 and compare it to the retail version.

<< So you have to rig your own fan... >>

you don't even need to rig a fan, mine has been running at 166 for a couple of weeks now with no problems.

without the fan, its an LE. Which means you can't play games like Battle for Naboo (for my son) since it doesn't support HyperZ. I've tried all the posts about adding and enabling HyperZ for D3D and it still doesn't work.

I bet you are not adding the reg hack to the correct directory. Make sure you check which reg dir was created before you apply the reg hacks, there should be one of the following: 0000, 0001, or 0002. Apply the changes to ONE of them.

With the fan I get a stable 205MHz, without only about 190MHz. Not to mention, it can't hurt. Besides, like I'm going to use that old Cyrix anyway right?

I have two (2) Radeon LE's in different machines running WinME. Both machines only have 0000, verified the hack before and after running radion.reg to update.
true the change is made to the registry.

I have tried it enabled and disabled with both radeon tweaker and powerstrip.
Battle for Naboo fails because HyperZ isnt enabled. Double checked this with Lucas web site, the Program will only work if HyperZ is enabled.

as far as not doing something right, been there done that. started with C-64s and spent 20+ years in communications and computers troubleshooting problems after other people screwwed things up.

I thought I had a great deal on the LE, boy was I disappointed.

However, I would absolutely love for someone to show me where I screwed up, constructive criticism is always recommended and appreciated.

Your best bet would be to check out the rage3d.com forums and see if any other LE owners have gotten that game to work. If they can't help you no one can.
