I know this isnt hardware related, but I'm stumped. I copied my OE5 (Win98) files to CD and I want to import them to OE6 in WinXP, but where do they go? OE6's import feature is only for OE4 and OE6, but not OE5..why?

Why not ask this under Software or OS? I hate to waste time creating an answer to have it locked.

First, you need to know where your OE6 email files are. You find that out in OE6 by Tools, Options, Maintenance, and Folder Store. Second, you can make that any location you wish by changing it. Then you simply copy the OE5 files of the same name into a folder and make it your OE6 Store Folder. That's how I synch all my computers to have the same email files.

Aha! I see your note and my reply got moved to Software, etc. Cool! That's better than a lock. The Gods favor you! :)

Thanks for the help corky-g! I shouldve asked this question in the Software forum but I forgot it even existed! I only ever check General and Off Topic, so thats my fault.

Thanks for pointing me to the Maintenace tab though; I had forgotten how to find the OE messages folder. Everything works perfectly now!

So, does anyone know why OE6 doesnt allow you to import files from OE5? Outlook allows importing from OE5, but only for files already in use (so I couldnt tell it to look at my CD, etc.).
