I read an interesting article that addressed this topic this morning.

In short, it's not impossible for the RNC to put in a vote of no confidence and pick who they want, but it's a ticking clock on being able to get the name on ballots in each state. States range from all the way to a few days after RNC nomination in locking in the candidate up to the end of September. And depending on the state there's also wording that says they vote the "party" over the candidate so they can simply put a sign up that says "A vote for Trump is *REALLY* a vote for Paul Ryan" and it's perfectly legal. Other states aren't worded as such.

That's if Trump doesn't bow out on his own. Which I just don't see in his character.

If the RNC chooses to go the ousting route, I can see Trump taking it as the ultimate insult and throwing every penny he has into litigating and mud slinging and turning this into an even bigger shit show than it currently is. If he wants ratings, that will get some ratings.

They can... But they cant. The time to do this was before the convention. If they do it now, the Trump supporters will revolt and not vote for whoever they put in. The reps have an issue, and that is the party is divided. On one side is the normal conservatives that just want fiscal responsibility, small govt and govt out of peoples lives, above all they believe in personal responsibility... That is the traditional republican values that sound very good to me... On the other side, you have the narrow minded bigot evangelical nutjobs that want to invade people private lives, tell people who they can and cannot marry, and tell how women should manage their own reproductive health and on top of that, they blame all of their issues on brown people on a level not seen since Germany in the 1930's. Those 2 philosophies do not mix well... The narrow minded bigot evangelical nutjobs are simply too intolerant.

I'm a little surprized some of the enormous money guys didn't get together and offer Donald some building contract worth shit tons of money that would be so "important" that Donald wouldn't be able to run for President with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge. The money these guys are willing to sink into elections is amazing.
I wonder if they tried? I wonder if they regret not trying?
