"She cackles and dated a slimy politician 30 years ago, so I have to vote for the fascist again." -- boomersOne of the big benefits for Harris is that she is already the VP. If skeletons were going to fall out, you would think they would have been uncovered by now.
Most important is winning the president AND minimizing downballot losses. The democrats are already down 1 Senate seat with Manchin retiring, they can't afford to lose another. They also need to flip the House. If Republicans get control of both houses of Congress, Biden will spend more time signing vetoes than legislation - military budget being an exception.I'd also like to know what everyone here thinks is more important: winning WH or minimizing downballot losses.
If repubs get either part of Congress, we'll have 4 more years of US Budget Russian Roulette (TM)Most important is winning the president AND minimizing downballot losses. That sidesteps my main point. Assuming you can only have one or the other, which is more important? To me, with the President's newly minted superpowers, the WH is infinitely more important to hold on to, even if Dems lose both houses. Of course I'd like WH and supermajority as that's the fastest way to affect real change, but that isn't what I am asking about. I just hope all the pressure coming from people to get rid of Biden aren't coming at it from a "this will hurt my career" or "this will mean the DNC will lose some power" angle. Most important is winning the president AND minimizing downballot losses. This is a good day for Democrats and America. Kamala will be our next president. Let's get it done!
State actors would have had plenty of reasons to dig even as VP if it could have upended the prior campaign.Even as VP digging for dirt on her wasn't going to pay dividends. Now shit is getting real. State actors have deep pockets. We will see how it goes.
Good videoBeau nailed it.
Changing Biden is the best way of guaranteeing a Trump win because any change will be challenged, and the challenge will end up at SCOTUS.
What do you think they'll rule? Has precedent/ long standing thing/ good interpretation of the law been upheld there recently?
Go smell some smelling salts and wake the hell up!
I just think the stakes are exponentially higher if she becomes the actual candidate for Prez.State actors would have had plenty of reasons to dig even as VP if it could have upended the prior campaign.

Yup and we all know Republican appointed judges care deeply about legality.Harris is a completely legal replacement, plenty of legal scholars have chimed in.
Harris '24. Let's go.
They don't have enough time to do anything, and we do have appeals courts and certainly non crazy judges enough that it will go nowhere before the election.Yup and we all know Republican appointed judges care deeply about legality.

Republican judges will delay when it helps them and expedite when it helps them. They don't have enough time to do anything, and we do have appeals courts and certainly non crazy judges enough that it will go nowhere before the election.

You say we are at odds there. Fair enough. You said gone. Don't get hung up on the dementia term. You think he is gone. I say he is tired and battered.

They think he can't campaign effectively. Is it because he's too old? Too tired? Actually getting senile? Who knows. The fact that they want him out does not automatically mean they think he isn't all there mentally, or "gone."You say we are at odds there. Fair enough.
But why else would leadership replace Biden?
They had legit concern after the debate. So they called him. He couldn't speak campaign strategy.
They saw that for themselves and decided.
I think a lot of people are so over Biden and this bullshit ego of his at this point, the complete dishonesty and insanity of his inner circle too - his legacy is indeed trashed at this point. It's just offensive by now. It's hard to tell if this is the usual bluster or not. But if he thinks the D leaders are going to back down I think he is dead wrong. The leaks proceed what would likely become on camera statements from the entire top echelon of the party. If that fails they will move on the delegates. They are not fucking around. He's cooked six ways from Sunday and better give up soon or whatever's left of his legacy will be promptly thrown in the trash. I saw a separate story that large donations are now 75% less than expected so the money is going to run out.

If Harris wins but SCOTUS blocks her from taking office…I’d have to think there would be a very violent revolution, and probably a lot of bullets very eager to find their ways into the brains of SCOTUS.
