Odds of Biden stepping down

Why is it so hard for you to accept that we realize he’s old and has problems, but still think he’s the best candidate to beat Trump?

One of the huge issues with not having a primary is none of these hypothetical replacement “candidates” have a campaign team spun up… it’s absolute hopium to think they could hit the ground running fast enough campaign-wise
Wow look at you deflect from the lying I pointed out and blame it on me. Holy fucking cultists.

Oh soon the facts will be, she was whoring out young women for Epstein, while sucking off Bill Gates and getting paychecks from Soros.

Don't assume for one moment.. people are smart. They will disappoint you deeply and then some! She is way more vulnerable than Joe with the average education level and critical thinking ability in our country being utter shit.
You are completely wrong. Listen the world does not revolve around racist Indian American cabbie culture okay.

I think we have some perspective confusion here, but are you always this bitter and reactionary when called upon to support your position?

Look I provided you the quotes, you just aren't very good at supporting your claims of insanity it seems. Now you're pretending the guy who resents Biden's religious crutch and who has been upfront about his preference for a younger candidate is part of "the Biden cult" ? Seriously?

It does seem embarrassing that you're using terms you don't understand. Likewise, someone making a comment about a by product of extreme partisanship in our 2 party system probably shouldn't enrage you.

There might be some total fucking lunacy here but I think it's more likely you just have thin skin and are prone to outrage.
You're as dumb as maga. And then a political debate, just about as stupid.

You have completely lied and are making shit up pretty much like a fucking maga.

Pretty sad man.

None of these people even wanted to run in the primary. The DNC can't force candidates to run. And it's not like "being old" wasn't an understood liability.
I appreciate you keep posting because you keep proving what a bunch of insane cultists you are.

No Democratic politician was going to primary an incumbent. Everyone should know this. It's not like Biden was being impeached and they would have a good reason.

You're in a fucking cult you realize that. Just spouting nonsense that's common knowledge That It's completely wrong.

Was said hypothetical male politician sleeping with someone to further their career? It always seemed like that was Kamala Harris' goal...
Whatever you fucking sexist pig or whatever the fuck your issue is with Kamala. Yeah she just slept her way to the top, she has no qualifications she's just a fucking whore, who can barely speak without creating word salads, although you can't provide any proof, But we should just trust you.

Oh go fuck off with yourself. This is getting disgusting. You're fucking hard on for Kamala is just fucking weird at this point.

“When we talk about the children of the community, they are a children of the community.”

“It is time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day.”

“The significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time,” said the vice president.

“So Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong.”

As I've said repeatedly, she's not uneducated...but when she opens her mouth, she often comes off as such.

Should Biden step down and she becomes the nominee, I'll PROBABLY vote for her. I've only NOT voted for the Democratic candidate for president ONE time since I started voting in 1972. (and gawd knows, the Dems have put forth some horrendous candidates over the years) That one time was 2008 when Obama ran against John McCain. I did not vote for McCain...instead, I voted for a 3rd party candidate. Why? Because, being a Chicago politician, I just didn't trust Obama...he proved me wrong over the next 4 years, and I voted FOR him in 2012. (or against Mitt the Mormon...either way, my vote was for the Democrat.)

You don't have to like my reasons for not liking Kamala Harris. I really don't care. You're obviously WAAAY more liberal than I am...in many things, I'm more conservative than most Republicans...but not all.

Biden and Kamala won't win an election. That ship has sailed.

Both parties need a new candidate for our sake, which would be hilarious but it is what it is.

Only gonna mention this once more; but you really the one looking like you got the blinders on. People are putting out the odds and perspectives and defining why they weigh them as they do and you call em cultist. Common.

Also here's the thing with always being right: You never learn anything new. So I dont really see the appeal, what a boring life it must be.

Warning - text wall:
A cultist would see no wrong in Biden. I think this is more of a "four years ago, the DNC picked their guy and this is what we have" situation. I see a lot of posts explaining why we are here and trying to discuss why the mighty DNC did what they did. Some of us saw this coming s mile away.

I think people are working through the scenarios of righting the ship as best as possible. I saw a couple wearing "I am voting for the criminal" shirts last weekend. I have seen countless Trump flags. I see people defending the crap Trump does with never-ending loyalty. That's a cult and this doesn't feel like a Biden cult.

I wholly agree that they screwed the pooch and should have been more strategic in finding and grooming the 2024 candidate. I too am angry that this could have a massive negative impact on the outcome of the election and US law and policy for a very long time. Hell, I can see a path where in a generation (I used to think it was going to be 60-70 years), people would be in the streets in an actual revolution.

I do feel like posts here that are some sort of coping mechanism. And to be clear, this isn't some "safespace" for therapy to talk about feelings. It genuinely feels like a discussion amongst people who have enough insight and empathy to know that if Trump wins, things will be bad for entire groups of people in the US. From women, to LGBTQ+, to people who are poor. Anyone not white and male and well off could feel sone pain with what comes next.

I hope that people get out and vote because democracy and our environment depend on it. At least that's my take.

Democrats are idiots who publicly shit their diapers because of arbitrary polling and media narratives all the time. They need to put on their big boy pants and need to stop publicly shooting themselves in the foot and focus on the good things they've done and the deficiencies clearly visible in Trump's campaign and Trump as a candidate. Stop giving into the media frenzy.

The time for fantasy football is over. Need to play with the cards we've been dealt.
You know, I've also heard Democrats being accused of ignoring media narratives and letting Republicans go hog wild with the public image game, as well as disregarding polling in important districts or voting blocs when they shouldn't have, so which is it?

We had a primary in 2020 and Biden won fair and square. The DNC didn't "pick" anything. I have no idea why people associate such mythical power to an organization that is fundamentally weak and has been for many decades now.

At least you're not bitter. I'd like to thank you for proving my suspicions correct. Good luck in extracting whatever made it's way up your ass, or just relaxing. Whatever.

Rather than blaming others for silly shit.. look inward. We all make mistakes and we learn from them.

But all around us are people who refuse to even admit that's a mistake and instead they double or triple down or more.

That's why most of us think we're surrounded by too many of these who have hate and prejudice. It may not be the social circle we live in currently but even you have to admit it exists and you were once surrounded by people like those.

And that's why mathematically Biden makes more sense. It's simple math he's less hated than Kam is.

With Kam you require people to give up hate and use logic.. which is likely a bridge too far! And she is nowhere near charismatic enough like Obama.

That's been the forecast from magaland in every election since 2020, that Dems have nothing but defeat waiting for them.

And how has that worked out so far? You think 34 felony convictions and a corrupted SCOTUS defiling the Constitution for Trump is just going to be ignored in November?

I think I'm not going to be baited in this loony toon topic, but yes, people voting for Trump aren't going to weigh that as much as other factors. They already knew he was a pig the last time he was elected, so that's just par for the course. 🙂

Remember, the US was divided last time, but now Biden won't step down and is becoming a creepy vegetable.

Trumpkins don’t matter though as they aren’t reachable and aren’t who we should care about. Both Biden and Trump are competing for the same 5-10% of the electorate that do care about these things.

I guess I should have been more clear. In 2020, we all knew Biden was the right guy to beat Trump. We also knew he was old. In 2020, people were already making a concession in their mind to vote for an old guy versus a whacko. My point is that the Democratic party should have been actively figuring out how to avoid the exact situation we are currently facing. I am pretty sure this was apparent in 2020 and it cones as absolutely no suprrise that Joe has slipped to a point where "indeependents" and swing voters are (somehow) struggling with this current decision.

We could have had a very strong, viable candidate smoothly slot in when Joe had to "make a tough decision to leave politics for health reasons" or some such bullshit. They missed the opportunity for whatever reasons they have.

I think that is part of the reason some people are so angry. Expect the same level of anger when Sotomayor steps down during a Republican presidency. Another avoidable situation that Dems will fuck up. I hate the Republican platform and about 99% of the polciticans (the other 1% I simply dislike) but they do have a strategy and are pretty effective at executing on their plans. I guarantee they were ready to throw someone else in for Trump before the SC decided it's okay for prwidents to do criming.

There was nothing to figure out as Biden had decided to run for another term. Once he made that decision no one was going to beat him.

Both candidates represent the near impossibility of displacing an incumbent who wants to run. It's not a conspiracy, it's just political reality.

I get that and I am not arguing about that. I am simply stating that this scenario should have been planned for. Imagine if you will that someone like Kamala Harris had been front and center and doing some really "nifty" stuff in the public eye for the last 3 years. They could have had 2 or 3 people who could have been on PR tours engaging with the public and doing all the right things to become appealing to that small group of people who will swing the election. There are plenty of politicans who never have to make hard governing decisions and could be bland enough to get votes.

The Dems should not have been caught off guard by the blowback from a bad debate performance. And yet, here we are. Some people are just more pissed off about this.

What blowback? The media and libtards?

FUCK EM!

And the Repulbicans probably have a Plan B if Trump was to actually die, end up in prison, be exposed (even more?) For whatever crimes he has committed, etc.

Apparently, the Dems do not have a viable Plan B that sits well with enough people that makes us comfy that we don't get another Trump term.
