There is no time for fantasy tickets that would cause more trouble than not. It has to be Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket. And then a straight white male is VP, who is not from a West Coast or East Coast very Blue State. Simple as that. It's logistically the absolute best option, In regards to campaign cash and a ground game already in place with her, It's also the only way that honors the way the succession goes now, as she is next in line. To go over her and broker a convention would be a complete shit show. The way above is literally the only way.

Kamala is a loss.

If the fucking Indians in New York can't stand her, how do you expect her to win swing states?

You are right...those articles from the past five years were pretty much from only Fox News and other right leaning sources and were always called 'fake news' by the mainstream media (in those rare instances they even chose to acknowledge this issue).

However, in the past week, stories from sources close to Biden are now claiming his cognitive abilities have declined prior the debate. That was the point I was trying to make.

There were no stories like the one below prior to the debate (except from Fox News):

There are many current examples that claim the mainstream media has been 'gas-lighting' about Joe's current condition and yet you claim I live in a media bubble?

It feels like the "emperor has no clothes" moment and the media can't help but pounce on every little thing now.

That will be another obstacle Biden will have to overcome - he needs to be perfect from here on out and already the response this week has been an inconsistent message at best.

Of all the times they mentioned his age, how many were in a negative manner (like the Fox News stories), or were they 'gas lighting' saying he is as sharp as a tack and there are no age issues?
Like basically all of them. Again, what weird media bubble are you in?!

Give me a break. Get out of the bubble. Her and her new VP would also have four months to campaign and that's plenty of time.

There is no other option. All the other options are way worse.

Obama was the most gifted politician of my entire lifetime. Biden...is not and neither is Trump.
Doesn't that really depend on how you define gifted? The Clintons were both politically gifted. But a scumbag nobody beat a ton of politically gifted Republican Politicians in the primaries and went on to beat Hillary. And Biden beat him.

In my opinion Obama squandered political opportunity in order to lend credence to the notion that it isn't only Whites who have real human dignity. But that has always been true and doesn't require proof from those who know it and will be ignored no matter the evidence by those who are sick with racism. Biden is now doing the same to preserve the notion that liberals will act rationally regardless is it costs us our democracy.

So what you can gifted I might regard as tremendous capacity for idiocy. And it is this very well idiocy among Democrats, in my opinion, that allowed the Supreme Court to hand an authoritarian green light to the Presidency because only Republicans lack the character not to use it. I find it extremely egotistical to worry about how others will see you if you take from the intended recipient the One Ring and use it against them.

We will all just have to wait with our heads on the chopping block the outcome of the 2024 election to know what our fate will be. Do you know the story of the man who got to choose which room he wanted to go to in hell where the voiced behind that door were pleading over and over, "Don't make a wave"? I feel like I live in that room.

Go to Jackson Heights, go to Richmond Hill, Go to Flushing, hell go to Hicksville or Edison NJ. FFS talk to cabbies.

The only one in a bubble is you dude.. they like Vivek a lot more than Kamla!

I can't believe it sometimes but it's very real!

My man, you live in Trumpville NYC so probably should not be talking to anybody about bubbles.

Sure but I get around. It's not like driving to the other side of the state to get a different opinion.

FFS I drive to Richmond Hill to get my favorite meatball hero, Flushing to get my wife's favorite noodles, Hempstead to get fishballs and Canarsie to get Sticky Rice.

Hysterical Karen is still convinced that DJT will flip NYS red. 🤣

Don't kid yourself.. Adams has done a hell of a job pissing off loyal dems with the migrant mess.

Biden might still get a win but Adams is TOAST!

Adams is just a shit in general. Can’t believe you knuckleheads elected him in the first place.

Peter Zeihan gives his pitch on the debate.

I needed this. Zeihan being the worst case pessimistic end of days kind of guy this calms the mind.

Basically he believes it's still Bidens unless he croaks he also thinks that Biden stepping down and running ie Kamala would be even better.

Basically he believes it's still Bidens unless he croaks he also thinks that Biden stepping down and running ie Kamala would be even better.

Here's my pitch.

Biden has to
1. Demonstrate that he is 100% competent. That means he makes the decision after looking at everything and deciding what he believes is best for the country. It's his decision.

2. Give a live speech where he speaks competently for at least 30 minutes, spells out what he has done without powerpoint talking points, and describes what he believes is right. Out the fucking gate. Explain what he's done that he's proud of. Explain how Harris was there the whole time. Do it so a 7th grader can understand.

Then, after a short intro of what he's done that is good, explain what "Official Acts" he is going to take on 3 issues. This is a dare to Republicans, and a constitutionally-protected power he has as President...John Roberts and Trump's Russian Judges all just said so, tough shit.

A. LEGALIZE CANNABIS. Any lawyer worth a shit can argue how it's an "Official Act". And boom, Biden is doing "the right thing", he's using the powers the fucking Supreme Court just handed to him, and this shit polls pretty positive nationwide and in a lot of swing states...hello

This maybe, possibly awakens some young people who are just stupid enough to not vote unless they're getting a "hand out" (a handout here is righting a terrible and disastrous policy over the last 85+ years). For the love of God, Democrats, start giving people the things they elect you to give. This one is probably the biggest Democratic Party weakness...just give people what they fucking elected you for and stop worrying about how FOX is going to frame it, we already know.

B. LEGALIZE ABORTION. Any lawyer Official Act as above. Same thing as cannabis, a majority of people pretty much everywhere support it. Awakens some of these people who for some reason believe Democrats never gave enough shit about abortion...as if there aren't dozens of states where Democrats enshrined it into the state fucking law thank you very much, voting matters every time everywhere.

C. JOBS/INFLATION. Pretty much whatever here, again "Official Act", and addresses the economy. Pairs well with a civil right and just making shit right w/r/t cannabis.

3. Explain how he is stepping aside to let Harris continue the job. Harris is by US politician age averages young. She has the energy. And all she has to do is say:

4. I was there with Joe (I have experience). I believe in Joe (explain how Biden is competent, which his speech should have just demonstrated ***this is the most important thing in all of this, probably****, a competent "wise" person who just demonstrated his competency just handed over the reigns.

A. Explain how she is going to make sure the Official Acts mentioned in 2A,B,C remain that way. She will treat the audience as she would someone she deeply cares about personally, and point out that while she wasn't President, she knows what it takes. She will explain how she will accomplish Biden's 2ABCs while also doing X (X being what she wants to be President for. She isn't Biden's appendage, she's the POTUS CANDIDATE.)

B. X spells out something that 70% of US Voters agree on and she says that's her goal. She has to be a "this needs to happen" candidate and have 70% support on that issue. Full stop. With 2ABC and X, that's enough for any President. It's defending civil rights, helping the economy, righting the wrong of cannabis (YOUNG VOTERS GOD DAMNT) and then X.

5. Biden come back and describes the resigning/stepping aside process that has been vetted by Harris, the Cabinet, and constitutional lawyers worth a shit. It has to be simple enough for Biden to explain it on TV to a 7th grader.

6. Harris answers questions at the end. She is smart enough and can handle this. Besides Biden appearing competent during the entire thing, she has to be able to list that X issue that almost everyone supports, and answering questions here.

That's away to frame the this thing.

This is happening right now by countless Democrats and insiders, because it's basic shit powerful people do. How well, who knows. Harris and the Cabinet should already be meeting in regards to the 25th Amendment as they are directly listed as responsible to US Citizens in the matter.

I don't think panicking about Biden and screaming that he's clearly incompetent helps with the framing of a narrative where Biden steps aside, and it isn't just on to a next disaster.

If he can give that 30-45 minute speech where he defends what he has done, explains 3 "Official Acts" that are very popular he is implementing, and then saying he's going to step aside and allow Harris to finish what he started, then maybe the Democrats don't immediately lose any points from demanding that their Incumbent President resign/step aside two months before the polls start opening up.

I do not think screaming that Biden is incompetent helps any possible transition that may be coming. I also think that enemies of the US and representative democracy know that too, and I'm not going to be doing their ratfucking for them.

I disagree. He just needs to be alive. There are zero expectations for Trump, so why do we put artificial expectations on Biden?

I came across the right wing financial channel Johnny Bravo tonight and over there they swear that Biden is going to resign.

I think the official acts ruling just means he can't be prosecuted for official acts. It doesn't mean he has carte blanche to enact sweeping policy changes. That said, he could deschedule cannabis if he wanted.

If Biden insists on staying in and numbers go into a free fall...I wonder if you'll see the DNC pivot and just start spending crazy on congressional races. Try to keep the Senate and flip the House and muck up the next 4 years as much as possible. Wouldn't stop EOs and whatever cabinet he assembled, but all that is temporary. No new laws, judges, etc.

I’ve seen enough. Top congressional Dems need to break the news to him and get Kamala out of the bullpen.

It's just not sustainable IMHO.

President Biden sought to steady his re-election campaign by talking with two Black radio hosts for interviews broadcast on Thursday, but he spoke haltingly at points during one interview and struggled to find the right phrase in the other, saying that he was proud to have been “the first Black woman to serve with a Black president.”

He also stumbled over his words during a four-minute Fourth of July speech to military families at the White House, beginning a story about former President Donald J. Trump, calling him “one of our colleagues, the former president” and then adding, “probably shouldn’t say, at any rate” before abruptly ending the story and moving on.
