Oddness in Windows Explorer

In most folders on my hard drive, I right click, go to new -> folder, and a folder will appear called "New Folder" with the name editing box open, so I can change the name. However, for anything in the Shared Documents folder, I'll go new -> folder and nothing will happen. I refresh, and there's a folder called "New Folder". I rename it and press enter to confirm the rename. The name doesn't change! I refresh again and the name has been changed. I drag a file to Shared Documents. Nothing appears - I refresh, and it's there! I think you see the pattern. Why does this happen? And why only in the Shared Documents folder? 😵
