Oddities after AMD install

Just swapped out my 280 for a 7970. Couple oddities happened: When uninstalling the nvidia drivers my monitor went blank and I had to hard reboot. After reboot following amd driver install, ie acts like it had browser history/settings reset. Something really odd about this is that now when I browse AT forums, about every 8th line or so the line looks about twice as thick as the rest. Started chrome and everything looks normal still. Any ideas of what happened or how to fix?

if you uninstalled nvidia's drivers via their uninstall program it left a bunch of stuff you need to delete so that may be the source of your issues

went later with a sweeper that removed some registry stuff, but the AT forum IE issue remained.

How did you swap the cards?, you are supposed to uninstall the device from device manager first, say no to reboot, then use add remove to uninstall the drivers, then shutdown the pc, install new card, boot!

you must have missed the part where the monitor went blank during uninstall of the first card.
