Odd Windows 98 problem... Any input?

I booted a machine with Windows 98SE today. It is using an ECS K7S5A with a Duron 900.

When Windows came up, it started to find and reinstall ALL the system resources, motherboard resources, and all the devices. It asked for driver disks, etc., like nothing was installed, but last night it was working perfectly.

Anyone ever heard of this?
