I'm with the general consensus on this one - deduct everything you put into the deal from the $1500 profit and give her the remainder. As has been mentioned, you will probably walk away with most of the $1500. And also, to the curb with her.

FK

...and then give her the remaining money in quarters...or at least dollar bills. Make her look like a stripper/whore as she tries to cash in all the singles...heh...

Really good idea😀

Take out what you spent fixing up the bike and a small fee for selling it for her and give her the rest. Generally it is illegal to make money selling someone elses property (this is the crime of conversion). In this case you acted as a sellers agent though, and thus in equity should be entitled to some compension for the time and effort you spent selling the bike. Note: their could be a fight over the cost of the repairs you made. The repairs could arguably be considered a gift, and thus you would have no entitlement to those costs at all.

Give her what she payed for the bike
- maybe give her back the money she paid for getting it registered and sales tax? (unless you paid that...)

- DONT FORGET to keep some of that $1500 to pay for property tax when the bill comes in YOUR NAME.

Id say the entire 1500 is yours though

you should get all the profit.

if she is gonna pull a hissy fit over it, tell her she could have sold it herself if she was that sure she could get so much money.

failing that... send her a bill for time and gas and incidentals that you put in to this bike from day one.
