Odd situation I have put myself in *EDIT*

Dude, not that I wouldn't have done it that way.

But she offered me. Thats where we conclude that she knew that I had the # and it was ok that I called. I wouldn't have called otherwise.

I don't think this is a good idea. Just hear me out now.

You said this girl was applying for your job? She didn't get it and now you want to take her out on a date. During her application process she tried to be very friendly by offering to show you around town (maybe scoring her some points for the job?). She didn't directly give you her phone number but you assumed since she offered you an invitation that you could just get her phone number from her resume (which isn't really a big deal if she's watching you write it down). And the resume, I don't know why exactly you "handled" all resumes if you were not the HR person. The whole situation is risky. If you were just a regular joe that ran into her, that's one thing. But you knew she was applying for your job and you handled her resume. If I were you, I'd stay on the safe side and not follow this girl up.

But that's just me.

EDIT: I'm taking the cautious stance b/c certainly there is more to this story that either I'm not aware of or wasn't posted.

I don't have any say in the matter. All Jenni did was sit with me for 30 mins to see what I do since that was going to be her position if she got the job


Did she know you didn't have any say in the job, I mean know for real (you were holding her resume)


And, you said she offered to show you around or whatever, did you ask and she agreed or did she ask first.


I dunno this sounds a little shaky to me...anyone agree.

Yes, I told her that I had no say in the matter and she can talk to me about anything she wanted to and it didn't have to relate to the job.

Thereds, I really hope everything works out for you, and I'm definately NOT trying to BS you or get you worked up here. But, I had a friend that called a girl up by getting her # from her resume, and when the girl (she worked at the same place) found out that was how he got it, she got him fired. I don't know if it's a State Law or only a Company rule, but, be careful man. Best of luck.
