i planned on running a 7 mile tempo today, but i left my watch at college. so i thought no big deal, i know what 7 miles feels like. i planned on running around 5:40 per mile pace, so i go out and start chugging along. i should have taken me a little under 40 minutes...i kept thinking to myself "i should add on...i dont think ive gone far enough..." so i kept doing more and more...i got back to my house and i turns out i had been running for an hour and a half! :Q cant hurt i spoze... ;)

I can out run you.

Only if it was a race to some chicken wings that covered a 5 foot course.

haha!

my senior year the whole guys XC team TP'ed the captain of the girls team and someone saw us(it was 2 in the morning, dont ask me how) and 4 or 5 cop cars showed up and we ran back to the designated meeting spot(my house 3 miles away). it was fun watching those fat cops running after a cross country team. :)

Hahaha, should I take a bow? Seriously though, all three officers I've rode with were in tremendous shape (two were about 32 years old, the other was 21), but they all told stories about guys they couldn't catch. They may escape on foot, but they'll be caught later. :D

Yeah, if by "caught" you mean "stuck in the grill of your squad car", then of course they will be caught.

By caught I mean tracked down by description/positive identification, turned in by someone, or by license plate if they're running out of a vehicle. It's just a matter of time if they did something serious.

Edit: It's also pretty common for backup to catch them, especially if you maintain good radio contact. One of the guys I was riding with was telling me about a time that he was chasing a guy and lost sight of him. When he got out to the street one of the Sergeants (who is a chain smoker) had him in the back of his car. The officer assumes that he just opens the back seat and the suspects just jump in. ;)

Interesting. I'm kind of surprised you can run 7 miles at a 5:40 pace, that's not bad. Doing that pace for 1:30 would be pretty impressive as well if that's what you ended up doing.
