Odd question about mouse cursor

Actually, I don't know quite how odd this question is. Anyway, none of the forums seemed to fit this question really, so I've decided to post it here, because the answer might be OS-specific. Anyway, it should attract the right attention.

I'm using WinXP, and I've got a custom mouse cursor ... everything works great. However, at times when the CDROM is busy, the cursor turns into a standard windows cursor with a little cd icon next to it. This isn't one of the replaceable mouse cursor states under the "mouse" option/pointers tab in the XP control panel. Is there someplace else I can change this?

Just a minor quirk.

Thanks!

I don't have a solution to your problem so don't get excited.

Just want to let you know that though I didn't customize my windows cursor, everytime I load a CD into the cdrom drive there's a small cd icon right next to the cursor so I suppose that's just the way it is w/ the cursor by default.

Thats just the default icon animation when a CD is loading. Why would this matter?

I have no clue if its the same for xp, but in 98 the file is in C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS. Very easy to replace for 98; sorry if its no help for xp.

I sifted through the cursor directory but amazingly I don't see it anywhere. I did a search for *.cur on my computer and amazingly only found one other .cur file on the whole system, and that wasn't it either.
The curse of the plain mouse cursor!

earthman: this doesn't matter per se, it's just a matter of customization. I mean, I don't need this, but then most of us don't need that 512mb of ram, but we ask about it and get it anyway =)
