just built my new PC

specs are

2x 120mm Akasa Amber Case Fan
AMD Athlon 64 3500 32/64Bit CPU S939 Winchester
MSI K8N SLi Platinum NF4
2x 512 Mb Corsair Value Select DDR PC3200 RAM
1.44Mb Sony Black Floppy Disk Drive
Black Classic Keyboard

LG 16x Black DVD-ROM + 52x CD-ROM

having an odd problem in that it seems to have trouble shutting down, when you shut down or restart it does the shutdown process fine but when it gets to the very end the monitor goes off but the PC does not turn off/restart it just sits there idle untill you either hit the power or reset button

its only a minor problem but quite irritating

while i dont think this makes much sense im quite certain its a software problem because when i first set it up the shut down worked fine it just suddenly started happening at some point when i was installing programs in windows and was restarting a lot to finish installations

anyone have any idea what causes this and how to fix it other than reformating?
 
how could it be the PSU when it worked fine at first?

also i should of mentioned i had this problem with my parents PC once and was fixed with a format(i just dont have time at moment to do that to this PC) so its definatly a software problem
