Ok first of all I'd like to say I'm starting to think this is the processor cooling fan, not sure how hot these athlons can run without looking up stats and it seems to be related to that. I have a msi k7t pro turbo motherboard, amd athlon 1.2, 512mb crucial cas 2 ram, 40gb ibm 60gxp, gainward geforce 2 ti500 64mb golden sample video card, other stats available upon request. For some reason after five minutes, the monitor status light goes from green to orange (I lose my video signal) and the floppy drive light comes on. I don't get my video signal back until I wait quite a period of time. I watched the pchealth status and the processor temp went from 46 degrees celsius to right at 54 degrees celsius right before I lost my video signal again. It is an enlight 7237 case with a sparkle 300 watt power supply and case temperature is staying steady at 22 degrees celsius. I also have an added antec case fan in the back pushing more air (that makes one in front pulling it in and one in back pushing it out). Should I pull out my globalwin wbk38 (think that's model number) and clean off the wax it came with, try installing some arctic silver and see if that helps? Or am I looking at something else here? Thanks for any help.
