For the last month or so, my desktop has intermittently been losing its internet connectivity. The wireless connection stays live, but I can't access any websites or other computers on the network. When this happens, the other computers (two XP laptops) sharing the same wireless connection are unaffected.
The repair connection function cures the problem. I looked up what this does, and tried each step in turn: the one that works is "arp -d *". Typing this instantly sorts the problem. The connection is then restored for a seemingly random amount of time (one minute to several hours) and then it goes again.
The wireless connection is a Linksys USB model - WUSB54g. The router is an Apple Airport Express, with WPA encryption running.
I've tried everything - repairing winsock, uninstalling, reinstalling network connection, wireless adapter etc, all with no success. Google finds several people who've run into this problem, but I can't see anyone who's solved it! Would be really grateful for any suggestions...
thank you!
