Odd HTML code appearing in my post

Not to make a shameless plug here, but my FS/T post is giving some weird HTML coding in the text, which is keeping a link from working. The code does not appear in the Edit text box though.
For the record, the item being linked to here is sold already. This problem arose when I tried to edit the thread to mark it as such.

The link I'm trying to post is:

AMD Athlon XP2100 TbredB - $40

but it looks like this:
xp2100.jpg">AMD Athlon xp2100 TbredB - $40

And the link is this:
http://www.jeff7.com/anandtech/%3CSPAN%20STYLE=

Now see, oddly enough, the link I'm posting is working just fine here. But in that post, it gives that xp2100.jpg"> stuff, and that weird CSPAN STYLE thing as the link itself.
And yes, I'm sure I'm doing the linking right - that first link above is simply copied and pasted from my FS/T post.

Second edit: I closed that browser window, and I opened the link to my FS/T thread here. Now the coding is fine. What the heck happened???😕 😕 😕

Looks like you searched for "xp2100". Highlighted results mess up the links. If you remove the "&highlight_key=y&keyword1=xp2100" from the url and refresh, the link will appear as it should. The threads below talk about this but don't cure the problem. Hope I explained this adequately.
