Are you sure it's the server, because it happens in every server I play in, and it doesn't happen to other people, just me

I think COD does that when you freeze.. just a glitch or something.. or your PC might think the latency jumps that high because its not responding so the server is still counting waiting on your PC's reply. My guess is that its not a connection issue. I get a short freezes also, but it is only in COD. CS:S (HL2), Doom 3, BF1942, BF:V, none of these freeze. If you try other games i'm sure you'll see the same results as me. I think its just a gay issue with ATi drivers or a combination of drivers and hardware.

yeah i only have the issue in CoD and UO as well, but I don't play many other games so you can see how this might annoy me

Yeah was just add codmp.exe and maybe codsp.exe but doubt that ones needed to the dep list. Try 4.9's instead of 4.10. Update punkbuster or play on non punkbuster servers. I had that spike lag in america's army. Right at the start of a game the ping with be in the thousands. Then go down to normal after awhile.

Using information above to update drivers.

Follow directions for your bios and drivers.

The trick is to have TWO (2) monitors hooked to your graphics cards
Do this before all updates so they are there for reboots.

After reinstall AGP should enable .
Call of Duty: United Offensive Multiplayer will now work with out hanging after 3 minutes 4 minutes 5 minutes.
And or
Games hang using PunkBuster Online Gaming Servers

I have a amd 64 FX-51 and Ati 9800XT using Asus Sk8n motherboard

Ok this is not well structured, but took me 6 months to put find the key to the fix.

Don't know if the OP has solved his problem or not, but I can confirm that when you use the Catalyst 4.12 beta, all PunkBuster issues in CoD seem to be solved.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, but I think I maye have the solution for you.

I have a ATI Radeon x800 Pro 256mb, on a MSI K8N Neo Platinum, 3500+

I was running into problems with Call of Duty and United Offensive only. Reinstalling the newest drivers for ATI never helped me, but I was able to get a hold on the Catalyst 4.9 instead of the 4.10, and it works great.

I have no problems anymore, and trust me, it would lock up my computer so the only way to get back was to acutally reset the machine, now it doesn't.

So, if you get the Catalyst 4.9, you should be OK to play. I'm going to attempt the 4.11 that has been released only recently. If I find out more about it, I will let people know.

I hope this helps you.

PEACE
