Odd "Flickering" in all 3d-accellerated applications

Hey --

I have a Leadtek Gf2GTS that now flickers in all 3d applications, i.e. madden 2k1, 3dmark2000. I have the latest detonators, 4n1's, and bios for my card.... anyone else encountered this problem or have a possible solution?

Thanks,

Rob

Is VSYNC on or off? Sometimes that causes flickering problems in certain applications.

Well, I found vsync (vertical sync, right) and enabled it so it would always be active... but the flickering persists. Its kind of like distortion on the top half of the screen that flickers every 3 seconds or so. Pain in the butt.

I dunno if this will help but try also enabling "Enable Fog Emulation Table" and the other key which I forgot which is something like "Make compatible with Directx..."

Are you running win2000?

This is a Nvidia Win2000 Driver bug.

I dont think the comments about vsync will help you.

I had a similar problem when I installed more RAM and mixed pc133 with pc100. I would see little errors and streaks in 3d apps, when I removed the pc100 the problem went away. Of course I also had a few other memory problems, but this was the main area where I noticed it.

top half, every couple of seconds?

I think I've seen that before.

Do you have any programs running in the background while playing these games?
ICQ, AIM, or any windows with "always stay on top", or things you leave up in the background in general.

Try closing all running applications and then launching the game.

Hmm.... I closed everything that I was running (also via task manager), which included zonealarm, AIM, and other such apps.

Still flickering.

I had a flickering problem recently also with my Geforce2MX. I solved it by turning OFF V-sync for Direct 3D and Open GL. No more flickers when running 3D applications for me.

If flickering persists
Disabling Vsync in opengl and D3D
Try removing and installing driver clean (use det reference driver first if not try 6.47)
Try Via 4.27 (I am using 4.28 and it speeds up hings a bit)
If still persists you may have a defective card or monitor.

You disabled V-sync to remove the flickering? Funny, I always knew it was the other way around? Puzzling... 😕
