When I set up win2k on my main rig (the duron), at one point (after it formats and checks the disks), it says something like "Disk IO error" and has a number (0008001 iirc), but this doesn't seem to affect anything, as proved by the fact that I'm happily typing this in that very Windows 2000 install.
But the annoying part of this whole thing is that each time I boot up the computer, that same disk error message flashes in the corner of the screen before it does that text-mode progress bar where it says "Press F8 for advanced options", and there is delay of probably about 5 seconds where the screen is totally black before that progress bar appears. It doesn't seem to be causing any trouble, but still it is very annoying, and I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions about this problem? Thanks.
