Odd Cable Modem Behavior

I'm noticing 2 odds things happening with my cable modem and I'm wondering if you could help me shed some light on what is going on.

First item is that I will get activity on the modem but will not see any corresponding activity in Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm shows no activity but my activity light is blinking like mad.

Second, I will get nearly constant activity on the modem when my computer is OFF. I haven't timed it but it seems like the light blinks 10 to 20 times per minute when the computer is off.

I've run AdAware and Spybot and supposedly I'm clean. I do not run Kazza or other file sharing software and I haven't since Napster was taken down.

Any ideas?
 
Are you sure Activity is internet activity? My SB5100 has a light that says "PC/ACTIVITY", which shows the activity of my PC, not my connection. Yours may be similar.
