Odd, and VERY annoying software issue.

Burnaware Free used to work until they updated to the new UI. Now everytime I try to use it, it freezes up, then when I shut down, I find that my BIOS/mobo/whatever can't even detect my CD drive anymore so I need to clear/reset the CMOS. Is this an actual software issue, or is it hardware related? All my hardware was tested to be working and functional and nothing much has changed....

Try a different burner and see if you have the same problem. If you don't, I'd suspect it's software.

Yeah, I'm trying different ones and they're okay, but it's still annoying that software would do something odd like this.

I don't use it but did they change to a new .net version ?

I didn't check, but now I'm using WMP to burn CDs.
